my baby car insurance

I bought a car 2 years ago and never taxed it as did not know it was needed. What do I risk if I tell DVLA?

I am a foreigner

The DVLA obviously do not know that you own the car and so you have not got a V5C in your name. Without that you cannot tax the car.

First get the V5C, you need form V62 (downloadable or from post office) then you can get tax.

If you are not a UK or EU citizen please remember you cannot drive after 12 months of being here until you have passed a UK driving test and if you have not your insurance is almost certainly invalid.

Ignorance is no excuse, neither is " I am a foreigner". The log book contains the information about what you need to do as a new of owner of a car, in regards to registration of same.

How did you know you needed insurance? Guess it may be invalid anyway! Have you got an MOT?

The best thing you can do, is to stop using the car until you have got all the correct documents, because if you had an accident, it would be the other person who would lose out.

Oh, one more thing, have you got a licence or didn't the seller of the car tell you, you needed that as well!

What would you have done if you had run some innocent. person over ,or crashed into someones car. Left the car and run away.Because you had no tax or insurance and because you had not registered the car. That is the trouble in this country foreigners don't bother to find out the laws of the country they are staying in. And normally get away with a lot of things

And??????? You live here - you should make yourself aware of the laws of the country in which you live.

Get it taxed tomorrow and remember that you have been driving around without valid insurance and killing someone would have resulted in a jail sentence for you.

Just tax it from first of april you will need the reg document or just the new keeper section do it at the local post office plus the MOT cert. and valid insurance cert.

tell them you are a foreigner and they wont mind in the least .

wel if you got tags for it you payed tax for it if your have register it i wouldnt say anything not unless you just want to spen d money now
