My sister and brother-in-law tried to buy a car from this guy and he included a tax for each tire!!! wth is with that?
Private sellers cannot collect taxes, period, it is against the law. A non-retailer doesn't have a collection agreement, so that yahoo is only trying to get a few more bucks for the car. Many states/provinces have tire tax, but it is payable only on brand new tires purchased from retailers, and is intended as a disposal levy, but paid in advance.
