I have a 85 4x4 bronco that has been sitting for over 2 years , i want to try to start it but i don't know what steps to take to try and get it going and to be sure the motor has not (and will not) seized but i don't want to spend allot of money at first till i know that i can get it started then i am willing to do what it will take i really love this truck i want to get it ready for summer! please help!

Check all the fluids, oil, coolant. The fuel is going to be stale, so add a can of fuel stabilizer to the tank. Put a charger on the battery, if it won't take a charge it will have to be replaced.

Once all the fluids are topped off and the battery up, pull the spark plugs and turn the engine over to make sure it will turn and isn't frozen. If it turns, check the plug gap and put the plugs back in. Use a small amount of starting fluid, and see if it will start. It may take a bit before it settles down and runs smoothly and at a decent idle.

Once you have it up and running, check the tires and belts and hoses and replace as needed. Good luck with it.

Start off by changing the oil and gas, put a new battery in, then swap out the spark plugs. If you are a little car savy you could sand the contact points on the distributor to get any rust off of them. If you do that it should turn over at least if it is not seized. You will be able to tell if it's siezed almost instantly once you turn the key because it wont turn over.

Charge the battery so it will turn over.

Change the oil so the oil pump will circulate the oil faster to the upperside of the engine.

Buy a can of either and spray some in the carburetor before starting, that will really help it start quicker.
